Welcome to GRM Green solar energy

Solar power is one of the most reliable and sustainable energy sources available today. By converting sunlight into electricity, solar plants help reduce dependency on conventional energy, lower electricity bills, and contribute to a greener future.

Types of Solar Systems (Extended)

1. Grid-Tie (On-Grid) Solar System

Connected directly to the EB grid.
  No batteries required.
Reduces electricity bills through net metering.

2. Off-Grid Solar System

  Works independently without EB grid.
  Uses batteries to store power.
Ideal for remote areas with no EB connection.

3. Hybrid Solar System

  Combination of On-Grid & Off-Grid.
Has both EB grid connection + battery backup.
  Ensures power even during outages.

How to apply solar Subsidy

Apply through the official National Portal for Rooftop Solar solarrooftop.gov.in.

Choose a registered vendor for installation.

Get net meter approval from DISCOM.

After successful inspection, subsidy amount is credited directly to your bank account.

An On-Grid Solar System (also called Grid-Tied Solar System) is directly connected to the government electricity grid. It allows you to use solar power during the day and export the extra electricity generated back to the grid.

How It Works

Solar Panels capture sunlight and convert it into DC power.
Solar Inverter changes DC power into usable AC power.
Load Consumption – Your appliances first use the solar power.
Excess Power Export – Extra electricity goes to the EB grid through Net Metering.
Import from Grid – If solar is not sufficient (like at night), electricity is drawn from the grid.

Key Benefits

Lower Electricity Bills – Pay only for net consumption (Import – Export).
Government Subsidy Eligible – Residential consumers can claim subsidy under MNRE schemes.
No Battery Required – Saves cost and maintenance.
Eco-Friendly – Reduce carbon footprint with clean energy.
Long Life Span – 25+ years of reliable performance.

Best Suited For

  Residential Homes.
  Apartments & Housing Societies.
  Shops, Offices & Small Businesses.
  Schools, Colleges & Institutions.

An Off-Grid Solar System (also called a Stand-Alone Solar System) works independently without any connection to the government electricity grid. It is mainly used in remote areas or places where power cuts are frequent.

How It Works

Solar Panels generate DC power from sunlight.
Solar Charge Controller regulates and protects the batteries from overcharging.
Solar Batteries store the generated power for later use.
Solar Inverter converts DC into AC power for household appliances.
Power Supply – You can use solar energy day and night, even during power cuts.

Key Benefits

100% Independent – No dependency on EB grid.
Power Backup – Works even during power cuts.
Ideal for Remote Areas – Useful where EB grid connection is not available.
Energy Security – Store and use solar energy anytime.

Limitations

Higher Initial Cost – Batteries make the system more expensive.
Battery Maintenance – Requires replacement every 5–7 years.
No Net Metering – Cannot export power to the EB grid.

Best Suited For

  Villages & Remote Areas.
  Farmhouses.
  Shops in Non-EB Areas.
  Homes/Institutions with frequent power cuts.

A Hybrid Solar System is a smart combination of On-Grid and Off-Grid technologies. It is connected to the EB grid and has battery backup. This means you can use solar power during the day, store excess energy in batteries, and also export surplus units to the grid.

How It Works

Solar Panels capture sunlight and generate DC power.
Solar Inverter manages power between solar panels, batteries, home load, and EB grid.
Solar Batteries store extra power for night use or power cuts.
Net Meter records import/export of power with the EB grid.
Continuous Supply – Power available from solar, battery, or EB grid without interruption.

Key Benefits

24×7 Power Supply – Even during EB power cuts.
Net Metering – Export excess power to EB grid and save money.
Energy Security – Use battery backup when EB grid fails.
Best of Both Worlds – Combines On-Grid savings & Off-Grid backup.

Limitations

High Initial Cost – Batteries & hybrid inverter make it more expensive.
Battery Replacement – Needs replacement every 5–7 years.

Best Suited For

  Homes with frequent power cuts.
  Businesses needing uninterrupted power.
  Hospitals, Schools, Banks.
Urban & Semi-Urban areas with EB connection.
